Two weeks ago, at the Department of Life Sciences, University of Belgrade – Institute for Multidisciplinary Research, National Institute of the Republic of Serbia (IMSI), the Open Door Day of the project XanthoSTOP was held.
Members of the XanthoSTOP team — Aleksandra Jelušić, Sonja Milić Komić, and Bojana Živanović — participated in the XVI International Scientific Agriculture Symposium “AGROSYM 2025,” held from 2–5 October 2025 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The XanthoSTOP research team visited the traditional Kupusijada festival in Futog on 25 October 2025 to present the latest results of our project to cabbage growers and promote the concept of biological control of black rot.
Dr. Aleksandra Jelušić, the principal investigator of the XanthoSTOP project, and Dr. Bojana Živanović, the leader of work package WP4, presented the project’s current results at the FEMS MICRO Milan 2025 conference, held in Milan.
The members of the XanthoSTOP project, funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, participated in the "5th International Conference on Plant Biology (24th SPPS Meeting)," held at Silver Lake from October 3 to 5, 2024. During the conference, the team presented their progress to date through two poster presentations.
XanthoSTOP aims to develop an environmentally-friendly alternative to chemical pesticides, commonly used for black rot control, by harnessing beneficial properties of plant-associated bacteria isolated from autochtonous cabbage cv. Futoški.
